Night at the Movies 2019

On Thursday 6th June 2019, TAU Trust held their 12th annual “Night at the Movies” with “Shorts, Shots & Sushi” as part of their “Starry TAU Night Series”.

Before enjoying an array of vodka shots and sushi, our supporters and friends were welcomed at JW3 in North London by Barak Ganor, Head of Culture at the Embassy of Israel, who shared his experience as a TAU Alumnus.

The epicentre of the evening featured four mesmerising and thought-provoking “short” films created by students from the prestigious Steve Tisch School of Film & Television. This year’s films covered a range of themes which dealt with some of today’s worldwide issues, specific Israeli matters, life events and even football with a mix of emotions which ranged from the serious to the more humorous and everything in between!

At the end of the evening, we were delighted to welcome Danielle Lux, Managing Director of the BAFTA award-winning CPL Productions, whose works range from the popular UK show, “A League of Their Own” to “Game of Thrones: Greatest Moments”. Danielle eloquently shared her career in the industry, pioneered the importance of young film makers and delivered praise over the four films. This was a true highlight for all our guests and one which encompassed the sheer talent that the Film school is renowned for.

All proceeds from the event went towards the pioneering and high quality work at the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at TAU, which has a renowned reputation worldwide for producing original and innovative films and students who often become leaders in the global film and television industry.
