with TAU alumnae Yaara Gooner and Dr. Dafna Goor who led a fascinating talk about Designing Desire: The Intersection of Luxury and Space. Yaara, a prominent Architect and Head of Design for LabTech London and Dafna, Marketing Professor at London Business School, engaged the guests with an exciting discussion about desire in marketing, fashion, architecture, space, luxury, and sustainability.

Women’s Circle, Wednesday 11th June with one of TAU’s super stars Professor Rachel Sarig. Rachel, a pioneering Israeli Dental Anthropologist shared her inspiring and thought-provoking story, and left the guests with a broader understanding of dentistry in Israel; dental anthropology and how our jaws have evolved over time; the role TAU’s dental school has played during the ongoing war and treating people with trauma and so much more.

We are grateful to Shaylee for sharing her personal story and to journalist Brigit Grant for conducting such a thoughtful and meaningful interview. Hearing more about Shaylee’s harrowing experience of her husband’s murder at the hands of Hamas terrorists and the impact on her daughter, Shia, was especially poignant. So, too, was learning about her therapeutic journey and the resilience of the K’far Aza community, including the 17 additional widows who are part of the same support network as Shaylee and who live in the same refuge building…still with no locks on their doors. Despite all the trauma, Shaylee has many ongoing film projects aimed at preserving the community’s stories and values.

The Philosophy of Emotions TAU Trust’s recently formed Women’s Circle gathered in an intimate setting with TAU’s Philosophy Professor Ilit Ferber and featured a fascinating talk on “Why Emotions Matter to Thinking”, leading to a thought-provoking and meaningful discussion. The insightful talk ensued on a range of things, from Covid to other viruses; public health in England, Israel and further afield and even how people make personal vaccination choices.
